GPT-4o is latest flagship model, providing GPT-4-level intelligence with significantly improved speed and capabilities across text, voice, and vision. This model is designed to be faster and more efficient, enhancing the overall user experience in ways that were previously unattainable.
GPT-4o sets a new standard in understanding and discussing images. For instance, you can now take a picture of a menu in a different language, and GPT-4o will not only translate it but also provide information about the food's history and significance, along with recommendations. Looking ahead, GPT-4o planning improvements that will allow for more natural, real-time voice conversations and the ability to interact with ChatGPT via real-time video. Imagine showing ChatGPT a live sports game and having it explain the rules to you. These capabilities will be launched in a new Voice Mode, initially in alpha for Plus users, with broader availability to follow.

Plus users will enjoy a message limit up to five times greater than free users, with Team and Enterprise users having even higher limits.

There will be a limit on the number of messages that free users can send with GPT-4o, depending on usage and demand. When this limit is reached, ChatGPT will automatically switch to GPT-3.5 so users can continue their conversations seamlessly.
For both free and paid users, GPT-4o launching a new ChatGPT desktop app for macOS, designed to integrate seamlessly into your daily workflow. With a simple keyboard shortcut (Option + Space), you can instantly ask ChatGPT a question or take and discuss screenshots directly in the app.
You can now have voice conversations with ChatGPT directly from your computer, starting with the Voice Mode available at launch. GPT-4o’s new audio and video capabilities will be introduced in the future. Whether you want to brainstorm a new idea, prepare for an interview, or discuss a topic, you can start a voice conversation by tapping the headphone icon in the bottom right corner of the desktop app.
GPT-4o rolling out the macOS app to Plus users starting today, with broader availability in the coming weeks. GPT-4o also plan to launch a Windows version later this year.
